Guerrilla Pizza Set to Launch First Independent Pizzeria in Downtown Las Vegas

Beloved Detroit-style pizza spot finds a new home on Las Vegas Boulevard

Guerrilla Pizza, renowned for its deep-dish Detroit-style pies, is poised to open its first standalone location in downtown Las Vegas. After operating from various venues, including the Hard Hat Lounge, the pizzeria is now establishing its own space at 900 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Suite 120.

City records confirm that Guerrilla Pizza has secured a temporary business license for this address, previously occupied by Far Side Pizza. Additionally, the pizzeria has received approval for a conditional use verification to serve beer and wine on-premises, marking a significant step toward obtaining a full alcohol license.

Founder Robby Cunningham, a Michigan native, began his pizza journey by crafting Detroit-style pies in his Las Vegas kitchen, driven by nostalgia for his home state's flavors. In April 2019, he launched Free Pizza DTLV, offering complimentary pizzas through Instagram, which quickly garnered a dedicated following.

The onset of the pandemic led Cunningham to transform his passion into a profession. After losing his bartending job, he partnered with the Hard Hat Lounge in October 2020, where Guerrilla Pizza was officially born. The collaboration proved successful, with patrons flocking to enjoy the authentic Detroit-style deep-dish pizzas.

In April 2023, the Hard Hat Lounge closed for renovations, prompting Guerrilla Pizza to seek a new venue. The upcoming opening at Soho Lofts signifies a new chapter for the pizzeria, offering a dedicated space to serve its acclaimed pies.

Anticipation is building among fans, with Guerrilla Pizza teasing the opening on Instagram. A recent post declared, "The wait is over. The pie that put Detroit-style deep dish on the Vegas map... Guerrilla Pizza is officially making noise again."

As Las Vegas continues to expand its culinary landscape, the arrival of Guerrilla Pizza's independent location adds to the city's diverse dining options. Pizza enthusiasts eagerly await the chance to once again savor the distinctive flavors that have made Guerrilla Pizza a local favorite.
