Henderson Fire Department Enhances Services Amid Rapid Growth |
New stations, personnel, and technology bolster emergency response in expanding community |
The Henderson Fire Department is proactively expanding its services to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population.
In 2024, the department responded to over 43,600 service calls, marking a 2.5% increase from the previous year.
To address this surge, Fire Chief Scott Vivier announced a substantial investment exceeding $43 million in new station construction and renovations.
This initiative includes the groundbreaking of Fire Station 92 near Via Inspirada and Volunteer Boulevard, designed to house multiple emergency vehicles and serve as an additional training center.
Chief Vivier emphasized the importance of staying ahead of the city's growth, stating, "Providing our community with excellent services is our key focus. As our community continues to grow, it is crucial that we stay proactive by planning for future fire stations to provide our residents faster response times and exceptional care."
In addition to infrastructure improvements, the department has welcomed 57 new firefighters since 2024 and introduced advanced drone technology to enhance emergency response capabilities.
These efforts have led to a reduction in fire response times by five seconds and emergency medical service response times by three seconds.
Furthermore, the department has launched the annual "Check Your Seats in the Heat" safety campaign to educate the community about the dangers of leaving children in hot cars.
As Henderson continues to expand, the fire department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents through strategic planning and community engagement. |
