Malibu Barbie Café Brings 1970's Beach Vibes to Las Vegas |
New Pop-Up at AREA15 Offers Dining, Roller Skating, and Nostalgic Fun |
Las Vegas has welcomed a vibrant new attraction with the opening of the Malibu Barbie Café at AREA15.
This immersive pop-up experience, launched on December 18, 2025, transports visitors back to the groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu.
Developed in collaboration between Mattel Inc. and Bucket Listers, the café offers a unique blend of dining, entertainment, and nostalgia.
Upon entering, guests are enveloped in a sea of pink hues—blush, bubblegum, watermelon, fuchsia, and hot pink—complemented by yellow sunbursts and orange palm trees.
The décor, designed in partnership with Mattel, features a clever arrangement of spots that conjure a beachy glow, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable experience.
The café's menu, crafted by Chef Becky Brown, a “Chopped” champion and “Master Chef” finalist, offers a delightful array of dishes.
Highlights include spinach artichoke dip, pink hummus tinted with beet juice, avocado toast topped with arugula and a sunny-side-up egg, a triple-threat grilled cheese with white cheddar, Gouda, and Gruyère, and a double smash burger on brioche with classic fixings.
For dessert, guests can design their own cupcakes, presented in a pink boat, or enjoy ice cream floats served in a pink Corvette.
The café also boasts a full bar offering beer, wine, mocktails, and cocktails, including the Think Pink Margarita, Beach Cosmo, and Cali Colada.
Beyond dining, the Malibu Barbie Café features a roller rink with walls striped in pink and blue, a swing for photo opportunities, and a sandy beach scene complete with Adirondack chairs and a white lifeguard stand.
Special events such as cupcake decorating classes, paint parties, and 21+ skate nights are also part of the experience.
Tickets are priced at $25, with $10 applied to food and beverage purchases and $5 toward merchandise.
Roller skating is available for an additional $1, with proceeds benefiting Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young women.
According to Derek Berry, president of experience for Bucket Listers, “Out of the nine locations we’ve built, this is the best one yet.”
He added, “There’s another level of art direction here because Vegas has seen it all.”
The Malibu Barbie Café is located next to Illuminarium Las Vegas within AREA15 and is scheduled to run through March 21, 2026.
