SMKD BBQ Brings Bold Flavors to Henderson's Dining Scene

Chef Alex Reznik's latest venture offers a fresh take on Las Vegas BBQ

Henderson's culinary landscape has been invigorated with the arrival of SMKD BBQ, a new establishment that promises to redefine the Las Vegas BBQ experience.

Located at 10895 South Eastern Avenue, SMKD—short for Smoked Meats and Killer Drinks—opened its doors on November 12, 2025.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Alex Reznik, renowned for his appearances on Food Network and his innovative approach to traditional dishes.

Collaborating with Chef Matt Meyer, known for his expertise in dry-aging meats, the duo has crafted a menu that marries classic barbecue with inventive twists.

Patrons can indulge in starters like the sweet-spicy bacon known as pig candy, burnt ends, and smoked wings available naked or sauced.

For heartier appetites, the menu boasts substantial sandwiches such as the Ribwich and Smash the Burger, featuring cheddar and house sauce.

BBQ plates offer a variety of options, including smoked catfish, seared salmon, citrus-garlic glazed half chicken, smoked sausage, baby back ribs, and pastrami, sliced brisket, and chopped pork available by the pound.

Complementing the mains are sides like Not-Boxed Mac-n-Cheesy, Dirty Dirty Beans, and My Mommy’s Kugel—a noodle dish traditionally paired with smoked brisket.

For those seeking lighter fare, SMKD offers salads such as the kale Caesar, Chop Chop, and Nice ’n Crisp with bacon and ranch dressing.

The beverage program is equally impressive, featuring local Las Vegas brews like Beer Zombies Duck Hunter IPA and HUDL Brewing Vanilla Oak Cream Ale, alongside selections like Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout from San Diego and Shiner Bock from Texas.

Cocktail enthusiasts can enjoy offerings like the spicy watermelon margarita and Crown Royal lemonade, with alcohol-free beers and mocktails also available.

In a gesture of appreciation, SMKD honored veterans by offering a free lunch to those with military ID on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, the day before the official opening.

SMKD BBQ operates daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., inviting guests to experience a fusion of tradition and innovation in the heart of Henderson.
